No, it's not spring where I live here in Arkansas but I have been thinking about it.  I found some photos I took of spring daffodils and phlox in a clear vase several years ago.  The flowers were backlit from a nearby window and I was excited by their glowing shapes.  I had fun with this one.  But I don't know what happened to that vase because I can't find it now!

Koi fish are converging into a single group in this painting.  I wanted to convey the energy of their forms as they slid through the water and created waves and ripples.  I used a palette knife in much of the painting and strived to keep a loose and abstract feel to the piece.  The colors are joyful and bring a smile!
