Oil on canvas, 10" x 8"
This time I attempted a group of garlic as the star of the painting. I like their subtle color and the forms the bulbs make together. I hadn't planned to render the objects with as much realism as I did, but that is what happened when I put paint to canvas. My vision changes after I begin a painting many times (fortunately or unfortunately). The reflections on the table were interesting to me also.

What's That? Oil Dog Pet Art Portraits Pug
Oil on stretched canvas, 10" x 8" x 3/4".
I painted this from an older photo of my pug, Mabel, when she was much younger and her tongue protruded only a little bit (it's much longer now). She had this wonderfully quizzical, wall-eyed expression when you got her attention and this look is typical of a young Pug and I've always wanted to capture it in paint. The sides of the painting are painted making it ready to hang unframed if desired.
Please contact me if you'd like a commissioned animal painting!

Calf in Bluebonnets Oil Painting Cow Art Farm Animal Portraits Calf Wild Flowers
Oil on canvas, 8" x 10"
What could be more pleasant than a Longhorn calf in Texas Bluebonnets? A friend took some great photos of cattle and donkeys in a bluebonnet covered pasture south of Dallas. This calf was being protected by the bull. I was attracted to the image of the calf and his spots blending in with the flowers. Bluebonnets have a wonderfully sweet smell.

Calico Softness Oil Painting Cat Art Pet Portrait Feline
Oil on canvas, 10" x 8".
I love the intrigue of painting cats and returned to it once again. A calico, Sarah, was perched on her comfy porch swing and there was an overall feeling of softness to her figure which was compelling to me. I tried to capture her Calico beauty and mystery as she gazes at us from her cushions.

Cantaloupe Slice Oil Painting Fruit Art Still Life Melon Garden
Oil on Raymar Panel 6" x 8" .
This is one of my favorite fruit still-life paintings from the past. A slice of cantaloupe with a red and white checkered cloth and the glass bowl for reflections. It was fun and rewarding for me to put these visually yummy things together and paint them against a dark background.
If you'd like to commission a painting please contact me.

The light and shadow pattern on this rose was the attraction for me. After establishing the shaded areas of the painting, I painted the remainder of the painting with freedom and fun!
