Home Grown Oil Painting Tomatoes Still Life Art Vegetable Garden
Oil on hardboard panel, 6" x 6"
We are in the midst of tomato season and this is a previous painting of mine of tomatoes in a bowl that I wanted to revisit and ponder upon things I liked about it and things I'd like to change. Well . . . . . I still like it, but I see some improvement possibilites. I did really like the glassy look of the bottom of the bowl behind the tomatoes.

I really like your tomatoes! The arrangement of them in the bowl, the colors on the bowl, it is all a very nice composition. You have handled the large tomato and the small ones very nicely. Well done!
Thanks, Elaine! I love your thoughts about my composition. I should challenge myself to consider it more often in detail in future paintings. P.S. I really like your blog and paintings!
