Eggplant and Pattypan Squash Oil Painting Still Life Art Vegetable Garden Kitchen
Oil on hardboard panel, 8" x 10"
I bought these little gems from our local farmers' market in downtown Ft. Smith, Arkansas. I quickly arranged them for a painting and this was the result. These little Pattypan squash come in many variaties and are also called Granny squash and Scallop squash, along with many other names. They also vary in color. The ones I purchased were a deep gold color and I knew they would look good with the dark eggplant's purple tones.

This, to me, is the best piece on todays DP site. Normally, I do not look at certain styles of work. This piece showcases your range. Some artists, do not have a range. They have a speciality, one style. You, have a range. Bravo!!! for this one. If, I did not have all I can fit on my DR walls. I would scoff up this one in a heartbeat..
Sunny, thanks so much for your generous comments! Sometimes I enjoy having a range and other times I think I would prefer having a certain style I could count on. Artistisc angst I suppose. . .
