I painted a little black Pug puppy as a donation for the silent auction at Pugfest 2008 for Pug Rescue of Northwest Arkansas. Isn't he cute? Thanks for visiting!
This is something else I've been wanting to paint - egg (or eggs), especially brown ones. To be precise, this is a "cage-free" brown egg! I enjoyed painting the details in this one and plan to do more. Thanks for visiting!
This rooster painting was inspired by several photos sent to me by a friend who lives on the Hawaiian island of Kauai (Thanks, Pauline!) She says there are roosters, hens and chicks in every imaginable place there - even the Wal-mart parking lot and she feeds them regularly at her home. These guys are so much fun to watch. Thanks for visiting.
Oil on masonite panel, 12" x 9". I'm always captivated by the blooms of Southern Magnolias and I painted a dramatic close-up of a bloom against its shiny, waxy leaves. Thanks for visiting.
Watercolor with Pen and Ink on Arches watercolor paper, 9.5" x 13".
This painting was in keeping with the theme this month of Daily Painters, A Tribute to a Beautiful Earth. I really enjoyed painting a "loose" watercolor landscape while also using pen and ink for definition. Thanks for stopping by!
Oil on gessoed Arches watercolor paper, ACEO 3.5" x 2.5".
Painting of a Yellow Lab with a soulful expression. I'm thinking of doing this image in a larger format and I can paint it the way I really want to, but I haven't decided yet. Thanks for stopping by!

I've been wanting to mix things up and one way is to paint with watercolors for a change and this is the first of some more that I have planned. Thanks for visiting!
It's not a summer landscape, but I've been wanting to paint this scene for a long tme and I finally found the time. The tall grasses in the wetland area near where I live turn brilliant shades of yellow and gold in the fall.

I painted a couple of pears on the keyboard lid of my antique player piano. I refinished the piano years ago and it still looks good. I'd never do that again though. Hours of sanding and way too many chemicals used to strip off the old finish.
I won't be able to post again for several days this week, but I hope to do so again by this weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
The subtle, end of the day lighting on these colts made me want to paint this; besides the fact that I like to paint horses! Thanks for stopping by. Visit my galleryto Purchase -- SOLD.
All dog obedience enthusiasts out there know what "down and stay" means and it's a pleasure to watch a Jack Russell practice her lessons. My Silky Terrier loved her obedience lessons too. They really get into it!

Oil on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas. 8" x 10" x 3/4". Edges painted. Framing optional.
Here is one of my peonies in full bloom. Peonies are so elegant. I also find them calming and peaceful. The layers of petals never end. Thanks for visiting! Visit my galleryto Purchase -- $74.00 +$6.00 shipping
This is another painting from my previous photos of some ducks on a cold day last winter. I've since gone back for more photos of the birds and lake during our now hot and humid weather. I have lots of ideas and am "plotting" them in my head. I'm beginning to enjoy painting water and reflections instead of fearing the water! Thanks for stopping by. These birds are so much fun to attract to sugar-water feeders because they are always hungry! This spring they came to my flowers and feeders as usual. Then I didn't see them for several weeks because the weather turned unusually cool here. Thanks for visiting! Visit my galleryto Purchase -- $59.00 +$6.00 shipping

This painting is of a couple of donkeys at the Overstreet-Kerr Historical Farm in Eastern Oklahoma In painting these two, I was trying to keep it much more painterly . . . what do you think? Visit my galleryto Purchase -- $69.00 +$6.00 shipping

Before I moved to Arkansas, I thought that most flowers were hard to grow. Now I find that many like these old-fashioned hollyhocks reseed themselves easily and come back faithfully every year. Sometimes they even come up in very cramped areas and claim their own space with their strong stalks. Visit my galleryto Purchase --SOLD.
Oil on stretched wrap around canvas, sides painted. Ready to frame or hang as is. 8" x 10" x 3/4". Visit my galleryto Purchase -- $79.00 +$6.00 shipping

Spring is coming and the Dogwoods will bloom again. We attract both the American Goldfinch and the Lesser Goldfinch at our bird feeders. These birds delight me in many ways. Their loud, sweet and kooky sounding voices make me grin. Their delicate bodies are so lovely. It's fun to watch them cling to things like sunflower heads and thistle sacks to munch on seeds. Thanks for stopping by! Visit my galleryto Purchase -- SOLD.
