Old Zion Road Oil Painting Landscape Rural Arkansas Barn

A large red shed is situated very close to a bend in the road on which it is located.  I really liked it in this light with the sun shining through the clouds after a rainfall.  The colors of the barn and field were brightly lit and glowing against the sky and the road in the foreground.

Outside Michael's Mansion Oil Painting Plein Air Art Still Life Fort Smith Arkansas

Oil on canvas, 14" x 11".

Artists gathered to paint plein air at a beautiful old Mansion here in Fort Smith last month  It has been restored by the new owners and now has an art gallery on the main floor and a bed and breakfast upstairs.  The view I chose to paint included the light and shadow on the steps up the to house.  The sunlit urns with cascading Boston ferns are lovely and elegant.
