Hang Over

Oil Dog Pet Art Portraits Jack Russell Terrier

Oil on stretched canvas, 12" x 9" x 3/4".

My painting of this playful young Jack Russell Terrier on her back and head hanging from a chair was included in the juried competition, Art Show at the Dog Show, in Wichita, KS earlier this year. JRTs are so expressive at any given time and I liked the challenge of painting this little dog in what is maybe one of the terriers' favorite positions.
The painting is on gallery-wrapped canvas with the sides painted.

Thanks, Roxanne and Diana, for the great comments! I did enjoy capturing an antic of these charming dogs (or beasts)! They really are so self-assured that it can be intimidating.
