I've photographed this orange Manx cat several times and this pose had her bathed in bright sunlight with most of her face in shadows. This allowed for interesting cooler tones appearing in the white nose and fur. I don't know if I really achieved what I had envisioned capturing in the painting, but there is something there I like and which captures my imagination. A little mystery in a portrait is fun.
