Aussie Portrait

Oil Painting Dog Art Pet Portraits Australian Shepherd

Oil on canvas hardboard, 6" x 8"

Australian Shepherds are definitely easy on the eye and fun to paint for me as a dog admirer.  Their eyes are startling, yes, but what I really like are their folded ears which perk up when they are interested in something or someone.  I had a great time with the grays, whites, black, browns, and the overlapping of all of them in this piece.

Wow Debra! I really love the way you captured the dog's coat! I too am a dog admirer, I'm more into Siberian huskies, gotta love those eyes! This would be a pretty cool project! I could see from the painting that you enjoyed doing this! Great choice of colors as well! Keep up the great work Debra!

Thanks very much, Lina! I have been working on a husky painting actually too. I like your self portrait that you have in progress on your blog! I "should" attempt one myself.
