Pink Lady on Side Oil Red Apple Still Life Painting Fruit Kitchen Art
Oil on Raymar panel, 6" x 8".
I guess I'm enjoying seeing and enjoying rich, bright colors on everyday subjects lately like this apple. It's backlit and painted from a somewhat different angle - on its side with its bottom playing a prominent part in the scene.

Bananas in Bowl Oil Fruit Still Life Painting Blue Rimmed Bowl Kitchen Art
Oil on hardboard panel 5" x 7".
Three bananas were resting in a shallow blue-rimmed bowl and holding together nicely in the spotlight. This is a favorite still life of bananas that I painted a few years ago and it tells me why I will always love to paint fruit with color and passion (and anything in bowls as far as that goes).

Sunflower Still Life Oil Flower Still Life Painting Floral Vase Garden Art
Oil on Raymar panel, 10" x 8".
I was in the mood to spin the color wheel when I painted this still life with a sunflower as the star performer. It brightened up a dreary winter day for me and I was energized for a while. That energy suddenly seemed to make my strokes of paint thicker and more decisive. It's fun to get enough paint in place and be able to carve through it again later. You also can't be in a bad mood while experiencing a sunflower taking shape on your canvas. Let the pigments loose! Or, something like that. :)

Snow BunnyOil Painting Wildlife Animal Art Rabbit Hare Winter Landscape
Oil on masonite board, 10" x 8".
This rabbit appears somewhat camouflaged with its coloring being so similar to the snowy landscape. I painted this from a photo my daughter took near her home in KC. I thought about the rabbit pausing a while before wandering along to another good place to stop and think I suppose. I also thought it was such a cute pose!

Home in Provence Oil Landscape Art House Portrait France Patio Pool Deck
Oil on stretched canvas, 11" x 14".
This was such a great house to paint in the middle of the snowy winter weather many of us are having. My client wanted a painting of her parents' house in Provence to surprise them with as a gift. She says she likes the colorful and sunny mood of the painting which reminds her of this region in France. And I enjoyed painting it very much!

DaybreakRooster Oil Painting Farm Animal Art Chicken Fowl
Oil on stretched canvas, 12" x 12" x 3/4".
An energetic and colorful rooster is stretching his wings in anticipation of another day. The background has some mystery and I want the viewers to envision where they think he is. He could be walking on pavement in a neighborhood on a Polynesian island or walking near the edge of a body of water. That was just a couple of ideas I had while painting him.
This painting is on a canvas that is stapled in the back and the sides are painting making it ready to hang unframed if desired.
Please stay tuned. I will soon have new paintings to post along with some exciting commissions on which I've been working diligently. If you would like a commissioned animal portrait please contact me. Thanks for looking!

Ladybug Luck Oil Still Life Painting Bug Flower Garden
Oil on board, 2.5" x 3.5".
Bright and cheerful Ladybugs are always welcome in gardens and on our hands, arms, hats, etc. I'm thankful for their gentle presence and gorgeous, colorful bodies and I don't like to see them leave. The Ladybug painting is one of many ACEO paintings I painted from which I learned a great deal. They helped me immensely with painting form and details quickly. I want to return to the lessons learned as much as I can.
This painting is sold, but if you'd like, I'd love to paint this Lady again for you in a larger size. Thanks for stopping by!
