"Mother's Peonies"
Oil on stretched canvas, 8" x 6" x 3/4".
Our Daily Painters' theme for May is Mothers and I painted my white peonies as a celebration of Mother's Day because my mother loved them as much as I do. I took several photos of them in full and partial bloom right before the heavy rains came (again) and lowered their heads. I think the buds are gorgeous with their crimson red and light green shades tightly holding in the white and pink pink-tinged petals.
The 3/4" sides are painted making framing optional.

Beautiful Debra, you captured the detail of the bud with such exact perfection, that it makes the entire painting look like a wonderful creation by a great artist once again. Happy Mother`s Day to you!

Thanks, Holly! This was a blast to paint.
ReplyDeleteI know your Mother would love your work. The use of greens set off the beautiful flower and bud. Fabulous! PatMeyerdailypainter.blogspot.com
