I think the combination of colors of this particular rooster is very striking and attractive.  My finished painting has a look similar to stained-glass.  It has thick strokes of paint and it can be hung unframed if desired.

The apples seem to take on their own unique characters when posed this way and viewed from slightly below.  They can be looked at as actors on a stage or groups involved in conversations if I use my imagination.  I had initially planned to keep the work looser and casual, but paintings sometimes seem to take on their own energy and purpose as many artists have found.  I am satisfied with the apples' finished "characters" in this piece.  That's always a good feeling.

It was time for another stuffed  animal painting when my daughter presented me with this cute, unassuming donkey character.  He likes to rest against a wall and look at the world.  I can't let my dogs see the toy closely or they will try to get him and he won't be whole any longer.
