I was able to play with some interesting color combinations in this piece.  The bottles bounced light back and forth and the flowers were brightly "singing".   It felt like a nice group of friends.

This is a painting from the past of some of my home-grown tomatoes in a favorite bowl.  It's always interesting to see one of my older paintings and experience my feelings about it now.  Well, I like many things about it, but I see some areas that I would do differently.  And I'm really looking forward to tomato season again!

Titmouse at Feeder Oil Painting Bird Portrait Tufted Titmouse Wildlife Nature

I think a Titmouse is such an attractive little bird.  They have lovely gray and tan coloring along with their large round eyes.  Even though they stay for only short bursts of time at my feeders, their quick antics are fun to watch.

Mourning Light Oil Painting Bird Portrait Dove Wildlife

Oil on hardboard, 6" x 8".

A mourning dove was sunbathing on a deckrail and made a striking backlit figure.  I loved the way the dove's head looked against the bright colors of the landscape, but I was also intrigued by the subtle blue/grey feathers underneath her wing.  These birds are always welcome ground-feeders at our home.
