Spring's Dutch Irises are a welcome sight in the garden. I painted a bouquet of them in an old Blue Ball Mason jar on some landscaping stones. I like their bold and carefree feeling.
The deep 1 1/2" sides are painted making the painting ready to hang without framing if desired.

Bananas in Silver Bowl Oil Painting Still Life Art Fruit Food

Oil on stretched canvas, 10" x 8" x 3/4".

These bananas seemed animated to me while I painted them in a silver bowl. I enjoyed the way the light bounced around in the shapes of the objects as well as the forground and background. Mixing the grays was fun also.

The 3/4" sides are painted making framing optional.

Little Buddy Miniature Donkey Oil Painting Pet Art Farm Animals Horse

The miniature donkeys still have their thick winter coats at this time of year. Lots of currying is needed to make this little guy slick for summer. His mane and ears can be trimmed too, but I sometimes prefer the fuzzy look. The 3/4' sides are painted making it ready to hang without framing if desired.

Sebastian is a beautiful Turkish Angora cat and so he has a a distincitve (and distinguished) look. He obviously enjoys the outdoors as he is captured peering out from among the foliage and flowers on a sunny day near his home. These cats are very intelligent and agile, and Sebastian loves to play fetch with his toys. The portrait will be a surprise birthday gift for his loving mom.

I didn't paint these watercolor tulips recently but I wanted to repost them for spring. I really like their "liveliness". I have some new red/orange tulips coming up now and starting to bloom so I look forward to painting them; probably in oil but maybe watercolor also.
